Pollen

I’ve had serious allergies since I was a child and they’re at their worst in the spring.  I spend April alternately thankful for the warm weather and dreading the peak pollen season.  We’re approaching that peak now, so I put myself under house arrest this weekend.  Last week as I was contemplating spring, allergies and new growth I was inspired to create a pollen themed treasury, I ended up finding some really cool items!

Allergies may prevent me from enjoying the outdoors as much as I’d like to this time of year, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate pollen. Spring is a time to start anew, and the pollen sprinkled into the air is an excellent metaphor for all of the new growth. Clearly these artists also appreciate pollen since they all titled or tagged their items with the word.

I did break out of my house arrest briefly this evening after the rain had cleared some of the pollen out of the air and I took these photos:

(Taken via cell phone, through the car window. While pulled over of course)

The pollen, fire hydrant and street lines are almost the same yellow.  Apparently that yellow was on my mind today since I also bought this yarn: BlueDogFibers Sunshine Wool.
